It can't hurt and I guarantee it will work with no water leak issues if you sink your lags in with a good caulking.I don't understand the reasoning behind this advice. Never use galvanized steel or aluminum flashing in contact with an ACQ pressure-treated wood ledger board because it will corrode. If you don't like the result you can always take it off and remove the crushed siding.īTW when you install your flashing it should go under the membrane too and if you rip the membrane you should replace it, which would mean more siding to remove. You don't need a flashing if you crush the vinyl. ![]()
